The Dior Milky Dots Summer 2016 collection is expected to be launched in the first week of May, although it saw an early release at the Dior Backstage shop floor on the 25th April 2016. The makeup range has a cheerful touch, with polka-dot motifs and a vibrant colour palette. The Mediterranean blue is back again for the summer collection, and flattering nude hues are available for women who prefer the more natural look. The usual limited edition Dior 5 Couleurs Palettes and lipsticks received the customary 'Ooo's and 'Ah's but my heart jumped for the Dior Vernis Polka Dots Duos.
Personally, I am not the biggest fan of polka dots. They're not work-place appropriate and sometimes they can be too youthful for my taste. However, I love the Dior Vernis Polka Dots Duos. The manicure kits, which comes with a dotting tool and two miniature-size nail colours (7ml) are the star products of the collection. They are available in three sets:
- 001 Pastilles – a playful retro combination of rich blue (Dior Vernis 795) and milky ivory (Dior Vernis 212)
- 002 Confettis – a vibrant combination of coral (Dior Vernis 652) and mango (Dior Vernis 432) shades
- 003 Plumetis – a relatively somber combination of lavender mauve and pink
While the polka dots will never make their debut in the office, these nail colours look amazing on their own. I can already imagine myself wearing the base colours to work on a Friday and painting on the dots on a Saturday morning. The colours are considered to be limited editions, although there are relatively close shades present in the Dior arsenal of nail colours.

Some of these aren't the neatest nail designs okay most of them. BUT the fact that these women, and one man (Dali), proudly wore all this geekery on their nails, and most of them painted themselves, is something I had to showcase. What is the best 3d slicer. The sets retail at S$49, which almost feels like a bargain considering that Dior full-size nail polish (10ml) retails at S$39.
After much consideration, I went home with the 001 and 002 sets.

The Application
It was easy applying the Polka Dots manicure set. The nail polish comes with the classic Dior wide-bristle applicators and they are fast-drying. After about 5 minutes I was able to start lining the dots with the complimentary colour. Even though the helpful Dior makeup video recommends spilling a bit of the nail polish on a piece of paper to apply the dots, I find that that wasn't necessary; I just needed pressed the tip of the dotting tool against the brush.
The Results
I had a casual-smart event that evening so I didn't want to waste the manicure set by painting all my nails. However, I love the results. The nail polish was not very pigmented (two coats were necessary for the base colour – although I needed three coats for the ivory colour) but they apply smoothly. You can mix up the colours and patterns for a fun personal effect:
The Need Nails The Girl
While I love the happy colour combination from the 'Confettis' set, I'm personally a fan of the Blue-and-Ivory combination. Temple of elemental evil save game editor. The colour contrast is dramatic and by changing the patterns of the dots they can look avante-garde or retro.
